Linnaeus was founded by Kit and Joe Pogliano, Professors of Biology at University of California, San Diego, to commercialize Bacterial Cytological Profiling (BCP) technology discovered and developed in their laboratories. Marc D. Sharp, PhD, J.D. is the Scientific Director of Linnaeus. Dr. Sharp received a B.S. from Harvey Mudd College, a PhD in cell biology from the University of California, San Diego, and a J.D. from University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Sharp practiced intellectual property law for 8 years at Morrison & Foerster before joining Linnaeus.
